Community Outreach

Whether helping to eliminate poverty housing, raising money for cancer research, cleaning the environment or assisting disaster victims, Ferguson and its associates wholeheartedly embrace the company’s mission to give back to its communities.

Our culture and tradition are built upon our history of supporting civic, cultural and educational activities through participation and financial contributions that focus on youth development, education, food and shelter, health and safety, disaster relief, environmental and economic development, culture, the arts and more.

Nationally, Ferguson is proud to be a sponsor of United Way and an international partner with Habitat for Humanity, and we are a significant contributor to the American Red Cross. In the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist catastrophes, thousands of Ferguson associates poured out their hearts, gave their time, and opened their checkbooks to help ease the pain and rebuild lives. Our employee and matching corporate donations after the deadly Indonesian Tsunami in 2004/05 and for Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma made us one of the largest financial contributors to the American Red Cross in the country. We recently participated through associate labor and product contributions in a Women’s Rebuild in New Orleans, providing plumbing supplies to needy families and all the plumbing needs for a community center.

We have been recognized as a community and industry leader and have received numerous awards: the First Energy Corporation Award for Excellence and the Industrial Supply Manufacturers Association Award for patriotism, which recognized the company’s efforts in aiding search and rescue teams at the World Trade Center in New York City; the Industrial Distributors Association American Eagle Award, for community and corporate education; and a Distinguished Merit Citation from the National Conference for Community and Justice.

Ferguson is a member of the Points of Light Foundation and Volunteer Center National Network. This widespread organization mobilizes millions of volunteers who are helping to solve serious social problems in thousands of communities. Ferguson’s support reaches deep into the heart of Hampton Roads, Va., home of our headquarters. The Ferguson Center for the Arts at Christopher Newport University, named for our generous support, brings world-class performing arts to Hampton Roads and enriches the lives of thousands of students in Virginia through their many educational initiatives. Our corporate executives and our associates make time to serve on countless boards of educational institutions, museums, youth clubs, health organizations and business organizations.
