Wolseley Canada associates shoot hoops for a cause

BURLINGTON, ON – Wolseley Canada associates from Toronto/Burlington area have joined together for a good cause and a good time – the second annual Special Olympics Ontario Unified Basketball Tournament. The tournament is held in conjunction with the 15th annual Bay Street Hoops Charity Basketball Tournament.

Wolseley Canada associates will play a non-competitive game with Special Olympic athletes at the University of Toronto on April 4. The tournament promises to be a day of fun and excitement in support of Special Olympics Ontario. The team’s goal is to raise $8,000 to support the athletes and further opportunities for participation.

“If this is the first time that you meet Special Olympic athletes I assure you it will not be the last,” said Jarrid Teabo, dealer development manager and team coordinator for Wolseley Canada. “There is an addictive hold that comes over you when you meet an athlete. Their sheer will to compete and perform, accompanied by their incomparable sportsmanship is truly inspiring.”

Wolseley Canada is a national sponsor of Special Olympics Canada and encourages associate participation to further the organization’s mission.
