We Invest in People.
You won’t put on a suit your first day with us. You’ll wear steel-toed shoes and casual clothing, and you’ll start at one of our branches. You’ll become well acquainted with our products, learn our procedures and develop invaluable contacts and friendships.
One of the things many trainees find attractive about Ferguson is the variety of career options available. You’ll become a part of a training program that offers a lot of initial hands-on training and continuous programs of formalized training. This training can take you in several directions, depending on your interests, personal skill sets and available opportunities. All paths begin with an investment of time working in one of our branch warehouses.
Sales Training Schedule
Warehouse (shipping & receiving) = 2 months
Counter Sales = 2 to 4 months
Inside Sales or Showroom Sales = 1-1/2 to 2 years
Purchasing and Integrated Training Schedules
Warehouse (shipping & receiving) = 2 months
Accounting = 2 months
Supply Chain = 1 month
Purchasing = 1 month
Procurement = 1 to 2 years
Operations Training Schedule
Warehouse (shipping & receiving) = 2 months
Counter Sales = 4 months
Distribution Centers = 1 week
Quotations = 1 month
Purchasing = 3 weeks
Supply Chain Training Schedule
Warehouse (shipping & receiving)/Counter Sales = 2 months
Distribution Center = 2 months
Branch/DC Operations = 1 month
HQ Rotations = 2 weeks
Warehouse Rotations = 5 months
Credit Training
Warehouse (shipping & receiving) - 1 month
Purchasing, Operations and Sales - 1 month
Accounting and Credit - 3 to 9 months
