  • EDI
EDI, Electronic Data Interchange, is the computer-to-computer exchange of structured data. The data is transferred electronically with minimal human intervention. Ferguson uses EDI with hundreds of companies, including vendors, customers, carriers and banks.

  • ESB
The Ferguson Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is a custom-built lightweight transaction engine that can process known business documents. It delivers and transforms them to disparate systems, making integrations more standard, faster, and easier. A given business document can come from one party and be delivered to multiple systems.

  • Catalog Partnerships and Solutions for Print and Online Sales Tools
Ferguson’s Catalog Group supports sales efforts through a variety of print and electronic catalogs. Print catalogs are produced each year geared to particular business segments and product groups. Data is provided to support customer-specific electronic catalogs as well as customer catalogs in online marketplaces like Ariba, Perfect Commerce and GSA Advantage.

  • CIM – Customer Inventory Management
Customer Inventory Management (CIM) is an enabling step toward managing a customer’s inventory. Once the file maintenance to establish locations and their assigned products is complete, the software uses customized handheld scanners (i.e., Palm) to scan bar-coded bin labels and enter order quantities or cycle counts. A customer purchase order is assigned and an acknowledgement is sent if required by the customer. The sales associate transfers the order data via a cradle device or modem. Once the data is transferred, it is used to replenish the customer’s inventory.
