Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t ever buy!!!!! The rubber on the inside WILL degrade and ruin your entire hot water system in your house!!! We have black sticky flakes and debris that you can’t get off the tub even by wiping your finger on it. We have spent thousands to try and fix. At this point we are told we would need to replumb the house. I’m beyond frustrated and scared my children will get cancer from this black material in the water. Seriously DONT buy!!! Yes we are filing a claim with shark bite but they are asking proof of purchase from over 4 years ago... Having the defective part and pictures aren’t sufficient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy these... I have to start by saying that the Sharkbite connectors are amazing...I haven't ever had issues or qualms with them, and I think their ease of use and quality are groundbreaking, making average people more at ease and confident tacking plumbing tasks. Easy does not always mean better though, and these hoses are a perfect example; they are not fit to be sold commercially. I had the same issues as others...black flakes in my bath tub. When I removed the aerators from my other faucets, I noticed the flakes in there as well. I bough a brand new fridge less that 6 months ago, and about 3 weeks ago it notified me that I need a new filter, so I am assuming it is from the degradation of these hoses. I looked over my entire water system, and the rubber from these hoses were the only thing that I could pinpoint to be the issue. I bit the bullet and replaced these hoses with copper. When I took the hoses off, I cut them open with a utility knife and found that the rubber inside the hoses was shredding off and going into and out of my water heater and throughout waterlines in my house. I am lucky because I know how to do some of these repairs but a lot of people don't and have to spend a LOT more to fix this problem. Having to spend money on fixing a defective product doesn't make me happy, but the part that worries me (maybe I'm just paranoid) is that my kids, wife, and I have all been drinking this water... I am no scientist, but I don't know how it can be safe to drink water that can have rubber debris in it. Sharkbite missed the mark with quality control on this one. I now have to flush my entire system and hope that I can get rid of all the debris in my water heater and lines, and replace the fridge filter (not sure, but I am guessing this is why). Hopefully there's no long term damage from this product on any of our appliances. My advise...do not buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ease of Install Can't be easier. No leaks, easy cuts on established piping's. Think there should be a 24" shutoff too. Measure the "from to the to" first. Buy the tool to disconnect. Clean the copper existing piping prior to attaching Again, I just installed. So to see if the flexible connectors have a 'lifetime", I'll have to get back to you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this product should not be allowed to be used as h The shark bite hot water connectors caused me to have black pieces of plastic/rubber in my bathtub after running hot water. This happens only 2 years after it is installed. In the last 3 months, it has happen more than 5 times with lots of black pieces come out of the hot water. I will go all the way including the go public until this problem is resolved. More importantly, this connector should not be allowed to be used as water heater hot water outlet connector.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shark Bite,18"x1/2x3/4 and15"x3/4x3/4 hot water co Your shark bite hot water connecters caused me to have black pieces of plastic in my bathtub after running hot water. I'm so upset about this since this has happened twice, once 6 months ago and again this week. It has cost over 200.00 dollars in plumbers fees because of your defective products. Plus the cost of your connections. The plumber had to connect all the pipes with copper fittings. Hopefully, this will end the nightmare with your products
