Prototyping building systems digitally, with managed content, means that every pipe, fitting and valve matches up precisely to a real-life product. An accurate and comprehensive bill of materials can then be sent directly to a sales associate for fulfillment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can assign different permission levels to users within your organization’s Buildable Content. The different permission levels are called licenses.
First User creating an account will be given administrative permissions and can assign licenses to others in the company. This license is for estimators and procurement and using multiple distributors.
Entitled Users are offered more permissions and functionality. This permission is recommended for using Ferguson as a distributor for procurement.
Guest Users have access to limited permissions and functionality.
Minimum Selection: Choose at least one license per product to set up your account.
Multiple Licenses: If setting up for a team (e.g., VDC or procurement), select multiple licenses.
Note: The person submitting the request will become the license administrator and can assign licenses to others
Before content is placed on Buildable Content, it goes through an ISO certified process.

Manufacturers on Buildable Content are hand selected based on their vendor/supplier relationship with Ferguson. Buildable Content is here to support a model-based procurement workflow for commercial mechanical contractors. Design/detailers can download Revit 2024 families (RFA files) and ITM file downloads of products of the manufacturers Ferguson carries. These files are compatible with and can be used immediately in your Revit 2024 or Autodesk Fabrication MEP software, respectively, and purchased from Ferguson.

The Revit families and ITMs contain information needed for a correct representation in both a generic and specific model. The elements contain a 3D representation and may reference product codes from Ferguson.
