The Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act went into effect nationwide on January 4, 2014.
U.S.A. Public Law 111-380 will reduce the allowable lead content of all products that come in contact with drinking water to .25% (weighted average).

What does this mean for you?
This act prohibits the sale of select products with a weighted lead content of more than 0.25% for any use with potable water anywhere in the U.S.

Products NOT Affected
Pipes, pipe fittings, plumbing fittings or fixtures including backflow preventers, that are used exclusively for non-potable services such as manufacturing, industrial processing, irrigation outdoor watering, or any other uses where the water is not anticipated to be used for human consumption. Toilets, bidets, urinals, fill valves, flushometer valves, tub fillers, shower valves, showers, safety shower flushes, service saddles or water distribution main gate valves that are two inches in diameter or larger.
What you can do
It is critical for our valued customers to develop a plan for changing out inventory prior to the legislation taking effect. Review the resources to the left, and look for products that have the LEAD FREE markings on labels that certify adherence to the NSF 372 requirement at Ferguson locations and online.
